She Inspires: Heidi Jimenez of Zenadia Design

Allow me to introduce this next "She Inspires" feature! The sweet Heidi Jimenez from Zenadia Design. I started following Heidi's blog a couple of years ago after swooning over her gorgeous invitations & color boards.  She has been such an inspiration to me, and I truly enjoy featuring her color boards from  time to time.

What one thing inspires you on a daily?I'm constantly inspired by
fashion and fashion photography. I have stacks of Harper's Bazaar in my office
and I turn to those when I need to get the creative juices flowing.

How did you start your business/ blog and what keeps you
focused?

I started my business designing invitations because originally I wanted to work for a magazine designing layouts, but after I designed my wedding
invitations I feel in love with invitation design, so decided to peruse that
instead. After my business came the blog, which features my work and things that
inspire me.  A schedule is what keeps me focused. I have to be organized or I
can't function. I have set hours I work during the day, and after 5:00 it's
family time. I also make endless lists, and have a huge calender on my wall of
appointments and deadlines for the month.

What's your design style?
I love all different kinds of design
styles. Everything from simplistic modern to classic ornate. My all time
favorite interior design book is
Mary McDonald's The Allure of Style. She mixes all
different types of styles and they turn out stunning. I would say my style is
closest to her's; tastefully mixing elements into one stylish piece of
art.

What three things do you have to have in your bag/purse?
Food, because I always have to eat, Burt's Bees lip balm and my business cards,
because you never know who you'll meet.

What words of inspiration do you have for other aspiring business women? Have patience. As long as you are driven and passionate about what you do you'll be able to accomplish your dreams, sometimes it just takes
time.

Note to Heidi: Thanks so much for stopping by, I look forward to working with you soon! You are fabulous!
