5 Ways To Stay In The Word

For me the word of God keeps my mind focused on the positive and truly helps me to listen when God is speaking. I've had a few women ask me recently how I stay positive and how I dig deep into the word? In the last few weeks leading up to the  She Inspires Experience conference, I felt the need to discuss certain things a little bit more on She Inspires, and this is one topic that I really wanted to talk more about.

Over the years I have learned that the bible is my life guide for it all. Everything that God promises us in his word, is what I need to live by. Not, that it comes easy on a daily, but it does make for a more peaceful and joyful life, when you just really take the time to apply scripture to your own life. Not that you always get it right, but you can come pretty close with the word. The word just brings so much peace!!

So ladies, here's five ways that help me to really keep the word in my thoughts each day.

1. Wake up in the morning to the Bible App, instead of grabbing your phone and scrolling Facebook, Instagram or Text, take the time to bring  up the Bible App. Read the verse for the day and let that verse speak to you. There's some mornings, I know I am going to have a jam packed day and I may not be able to stop and really study the word in that moment, I plan my schedule with that right away to get my thoughts on the right track, when I have those rushed mornings.

2. Get a good daily devotional, that you can really dig in to and schedule time to read that devotional each day. Make time to sit in a quite place in your home to read. You may even have to make time while you wait in the school pick up line, during lunch, while at work, at night before bed or even when you wake up in the morning. For me starting my day with a good devotional with scripture to refer back to is so refreshing.

3.  Write scripture on your mirror, so in the morning while getting dressed you can read it over and over again. About 9 years ago I started doing this and I remember one of my very first scriptures to put on my mirror, I wrote with old lipstick. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” "He said he would never leave us not forsake us." Deuteronomy 31:6. I left that scripture on my mirror for days, I wanted those words to truly soak in.

4.  Sign up for Daily Devotionals & Faith based blogs through email, and open them up each day.  Following other positive women of God helps you to crave that much more of the word. It's so nice to have a group of women that can motivate you to seek more of him.

5.   Join a bible study, and gather with like-minded people that can encourage you and be encouraged by you and your want to learn more of the word. Join a study that you are comfortable with, if you are single, join a singles study, if you are married join a marriage study, if you are a business woman, join a study with women of the same faith. Be sure to do a study that you are comfortable in.

I hope this helps you ladies and you start to crave the word, that much more! Not to just read the word, but to apply it to your life.
