Living Inspired:: Eight Happy Spaces

Hello, all! It’s Mari here with a guest post from Arcadian Home blog, a fantastic place to find interior design inspiration including great decorating ideas for everything from foyer lighting to colorful rugs for the floor. I'm so excited to be here with you at She Inspires today to share some of my favorite happy spaces—rooms that make you smile and think how wonderful it is to be home.
  Please enjoy! ~ Mari

Happy Space
When it comes to happy spaces, this one must be at the top of the list. It’s quite formal, yet vibrant and exciting with a great mix of sunny yellow and appealing deep pink. The twin spiral staircases and gallery-like walls provide a stunning backdrop for the room.

Happy Space
A lively art installation of blown glass discs adds rhythm and movement to this musical corner. What a wonderful environment for exploring music—piano lessons will be a joy here.

                   Happy Space
Turquoise with pinks and purples is a color palette that always seems to come down on the happy side. This pretty eclectic living room mixes modern pieces and classic elements with lots of gold for good measure. Folding screens like this glam mirrored one can add lots of visual interest to help create your own happy space.

Happy Space
No post on the possibilities of happy spaces would be complete without at least one room from Mr. Happy Chic himself. Jonathan Adler designed this serene but lively sitting room. The circular rug gives the space great movement.

Happy Space
This image of a light-filled entryway is amazing with its movement and sophisticated charm. From highly polished pale wood flooring to brilliant white architectural details and vibrant artwork and accessories, it’s an altogether happy space.

Happy Space
What makes for a happy family more than a beautiful and safe environment in which to live? This play space includes a child-friendly fireplace with a temporary insert—a magnetic chalkboard that is both good-looking and safe.

Happy Space
This just may one of the best bedroom designs ever. It’s the ultimate master retreat—slightly glamorous but so inviting at the end of a long day. The artwork is wonderful, as are the curvy chairs and brilliant modern pendant light.

Happy Space
This last space is a happy room because it has a wonderful totally organized open closet. Few things make a home happier than beautifully organized rooms. A vibrant golden yellow accent wall can be stunning in an all-white bedroom. Images 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 What do you think of these happy spaces? She Inspires: Austin Photographer Cory Ryan

I thought I would kick off a She Inspires feature this month with  the fabulous Austin wedding photographer Cory Ryan of Cory Ryan Photography.  From the very first time I met Cory I loved her passion and love for her work, as well as her beautiful smile. I am so honored to have her on the blog today to share with you. Welcome Cory!

What one thing inspires you on a daily?
I know it might sound corny, but my fiance inspires me every day. To be a better person, to work my hardest, and to wake up excited for life every day. Our sweet 1 year old mini-poodle and 10 year old Siamese cat purring in my face certainly don't hurt, either... :) And currently, I am planning my own wedding for September, so the thought of that inspired me on a daily basis as well!!!

How did you start your photography business and blog?
My wedding photography business grew out of my original career, which was actually film & video production. After I got laid off of one job where I designed video motion graphics, I decided to shoot freelance wedding videos for a company already established in Austin. From there, I realized my love for weddings and kept that tucked away in my back pocket as I transitioned into photography full time. As I became a stronger photographer and shot editorial spreads for all the magazines in Austin, I realized I could return to the world of weddings with my new skill set. And ta-da, here I am! I decided to gear my business look, photography aesthetics, and blog to a niche of modern, editorially-inspired, fashion wedding photography.

What's your design style?
Modern, colorful & quirky! With lots of exclamation points apparently! :)

What words of inspiration do you have for other aspiring business women?
If you really love what you do, you are bound to be successful. If you just want to be successful, but don't wholeheartedly love what you do, you'll never be able to force your success (or all the crazy work hours as you start your business!). Pick a career in what you love, and work will never be work. Well, sometimes work is work, but just pinch yourself and remember you are working for YOURSELF! :)

What three things do you have to have in your bag/purse?
Lip balm, Sunglasses, Iphone! (I'm purposely not listing my gigantic keychain that everyone makes fun of all the time!)

What's one thing you can't live without?
Monthly massages! I'm constantly lugging around heavy gear and running around on my feet, so it's the one thing I do to spoil myself every month. :)

KXAN:: Thanksgiving Table On A Budget

Pinch me if you may!  I am still in awe, after doing a Thanksgiving segment on KXAN news on Saturday morning.  When I was contacted a couple of months ago and asked to share a budget friendly table setting for Thanksgiving,  I wanted to jump over the moon with excitement!  As the day arrived I felt a lot of nerves, anxiousness and overloads of excitement all in one! (Now that's definitely an emotional bunch that I haven't felt in a long time).  It was completely a surreal experience and with the help of my two sweet assistant planners, Shalyn and Tori we pulled it together and came up with such a fabulous Thanksgiving table for the segment done for $60.00.

I am so blessed to be given this opportunity. Thanks to Catenya from KXAN, I am still smiling from ear to ear......

Shalyn snapped a shot as I put the finishing touches on the table,
(hints my phone in the photo)..

Thanks to the lovely Shalyn for all the photos

I love this photo of us! From the left, Tori(assistant planner), Catenya(news anchor), Shalyn(planner & creative photographer) and Me.
