Flower Tips For Valentine's Day

Hello Friends,
Rebecca here with Simply Love Floral.  Valentine’s day is right around this corner, we know lots of homes and offices will be filled with lovely floral arrangements.  When you add flowers to any space, you create a sense of warmth and happiness.  If you are anything like me, you want these beautiful arrangements to last as long as possible.  So, here are some tips to keep those gorgeous arrangements looking fresh days from Valentine’s Day.

·      Remove any leaves from water line down. Leaves increase the form of bacteria which cause them to die faster. If you are taking flowers home to be put in your own vase be sure you begin with a clean container. Cleaning with soap and water will remove bacteria from the container.

·      Don’t leave flowers in car over a long period of time.

·     Re-cut stems at an angle when taken home & be sure to re-cut every time you change the water.

·     Change water daily if you remember. If not at least every other day and be sure to fill the vase with plenty of water,  flowers get very thirsty.

·       Don't place in air vent or in direct sunlight.

·   Lillies are very popular and beautiful but can be messy. The pollen will cause the flower to wilt and die faster. So as the lilly blooms be sure to remove the pollen CAREFULLY.

·       Love and enjoy your flowers. As you enjoy your flowers remove the wilted and dying ones it will keep your arrangement looking clean.

Hope you enjoy these quick and easy tips.   If you have a favorite tip, please share and hashtag your valentine arrangement on social media at #sheinspireflorals

Floral Matters:: Sunshine with Sunflowers

Hello Ladies,  this is Rebecca with another edition of floral matters. After my morning prayer and dancing in the car on the way to drop off my kids at school, I was ready to start my day with a little creativity.  Creating beautiful with flowers is my passion and brings me so much joy. Flowers can brighten any woman's day, no matter what they are feeling.

This particular bouquet was inspired by the vibrant colors and need for sunshine on a somewhat cloudy day. The sunflowers and gomphrena(purple ball flower) were the flowers that caught my eye for this bouquet. The sunflowers are the focal flower and the others accent and fill out the bouquet. I wrapped the stems with a leaf and then wrapped with twine to finish the wildflower natural look.

I hope this Floral Matters brightens your day as much as it does mine. Next time you are at your local grocery store or market be sure to pick up some blooms that speak to you and brighten your day.

Blooms used in this bouquet:
Sunflowers
Queen Anne's Lace
Solidago
Statice
Amaranthus
Gomphrena
