The Power Of Prayer

I have come to realize that the more I pray the more I feel at peace in my life. No matter, how things seem around me, prayer brings a level of comfort and closeness to God in any situation, on any day. Prayer allows you to reset your thinking and open your mind to new fresh thoughts (POSITIVE vibes always please). Having a clear mind is a must when you are trying to stress less and not be distracted by the things around you on a daily, things that really don’t matter.

I recently had a conversation with a close friend about how its so easy to get caught up and lose sight on our walk; with social media, comparison and all the other junk that consumes us on a daily. I can say, that prayer and the word of God are two things that will keep you focused on the positive and ready to take on any attacks that the enemy will try to throw at you. We all need to find ourselves really clinging to God in a whole new way.

Starting Feb 1st I will be hosting a 15days of Prayer, each prayer will have a topic to pray over and a verse to hold onto for that day. As I dig deeper into my own relationship with God through prayer, I thought it would be a great idea to share the journey with you lovelies…

She Inspires Fall Brunch 2018

Finally finding time to reflect on our Fall 2018 Brunch, and it feels so good! Our fall brunch was one full of laughter, cries and a whole lot of encouragement. I found myself simply looking around at all the diversity in the room and being reminded that we all have a story and my story maybe different from yours, but we are designed with a purpose and we are all designed with endurance and we are all capable of creating and living out some amazing things, because God gave us purpose here on earth.

We gathered at The Grove on Brushy Creek, for the third year and it was beautiful.

The sweets were a hit by Feathers & Frosting

WE decided to go with a little different set up this time, going with round tables and a more warm and cozy feel. Thanks to Taylor Moss with You Are Loved Photography for capturing the day.

We welcomed Women with open arms……

Coffee & Words: Control Freak

Do you beat yourself up often over things that are out of your control?

Things that don’t add any value to your life, things that you can’t change, things that are a distraction to you on a daily, things that drain you, things that make you feel worthless, things that cause you to overthink.

I have learned over the years that I am not in control most of the time, and its okay, I am learning that when we humble ourselves to God in all ways, we can seriously do some wonderful things without overthinking and wanting things to be perfect, and allows us to be free from the things that are no good for us and concentrate on the things that matter the most. We can find ourselves setting bigger goals, dreaming bigger dreams, putting God first, and seeking our purpose that much more.

Over the last couple of years this verse out of Philippians 4:6 constantly plays in my head,

Be Anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

This verse spoke to me at a time and season in my life when I wanted to know what’s next, I wanted to know how, and when things would happen and change. I seriously wanted to have control of it all.

This verse really helped me to rest in Him, and let him steer, leaving me to sit in the passenger seat and embrace the journey.

No matter the situation, no matter the outcome, no matter what people think, no matter your season. Let God be in Control.

NYCIA'S BRIGHT HOME OFFICE

Finally getting around to sharing my creative space that I call my office.

Working from home can be hard some days, and for me, escaping to my little bright space in my home allows me to tap into my creative side a little bit better.

Bringing in a bright colored rug and a fun wallpaper would definitely get my creative juices flowing and allow me to be more productive. Monday’s are normally my hardest days, and it’s nice to have a space to go to, even if it’s in my PJ’s.

I had a custom desk made for my space. I wanted wood with a little metal detail to keep it modern and light. The chandelier is from Wayfair, one of my favorite go to places for easy online shopping and great prices.

The wall paper is from Jillian Harris partnership with MK Wallpaper, and the rug is from RUG USA.

For me finding inspiration is a big deal on a daily.. So it was fitting from me to add a large inspiration board, full of words, photos and travel. I am constantly inspired while sitting in my space and my board is constantly changing.

She wasn't where she had been. She wasn't where she was going, but she was on her way-

It's amazing when you open yourself up to new things and new adventures in life and have no clue how things are going to work out, how things look or who you will meet along the way.  Life is made up of so many possibilities and full of so many beautiful things.   When God sets the path, you never know where you'll end up.  You'll find yourself going places, you never imagined going. 

As the She Inspires team and I headed to Nashville last month there were four words that really were evident to me;  Courage, Confidence, Boldness, and Faith.  

 Courage in knowing you're going 

Confidence in knowing you are capable of going 

Boldness as you move forward 

Faith enough to not look back and just trust the journey 

We had the opportunity to brunch with some lovelies at White Avenue Studio, and celebrate faith and purpose.  The venue was amazing and made for the perfect brunch setting. 

The Creative Faith panel, did not hold back.  The discussions were real, and honest and I loved every moment of it..  The ladies on the panel were all FABULOUS!!
